Layout/makeup/slot person estimates the size of the newshole for his/her department; plans placement of copy and photos to fill the newshole; oversees paste up; authorizes the release of completed pages; approves, rejects or amends the work of copy editors on text, headlines and captions; performs other functions and responsibilities of the position.
Weekend work may be required.
