Basic Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervise production of finished artwork, mechanicals, and layout; receive incoming work; organize incoming materials and note special instructions; assign work to artists; approve and dispatch finished work; perform duties of an artist as time allows; discuss content with editors; read stories involved in assignments; request photos and work with photographers; design pages; critique and analyze work of other designers.
