Qualifications: The designer is required to have strong formal training in typography, interactivity and motion graphics, information design and other creative disciplines including fluency and awareness of the latest design technology, especially relation to interactive and web design. The designer should have at least 3-4 years working experience with higher level of education, MFA a plus. Must be verbally articulate and confident in speaking and presentation abilities for client meetings and group presentations.
Basic Functions and Responsibilities: As a graphic web designer in the Boston Globe Services Department, a business site for readers, advertisers and subscribers, this designer must be able to create effective multimedia communication materials for the Boston Globe Services site. The designer must also be able to work collaboratively with various departments with The Boston Globe to develop a website that balances design and functionality.
