Qualifications: Ability to work independently and make decision based on the overall good of the event and the client. Approve invoices and spending within or below budget. Ability to lead an on-site even team and achieve marketin and revenue goals. Strong networking and business relationship building. Knowledge of Boston marketplace trends, best practices in event marketing industry. Strong leadership skills for co-workeers to follow. Clear communication skills. Organized, detail oriented, strong writing skills and well spoken. 5+ years experience in event planning, event execution and management of staff, ability to balance specified budgets. To understand and implement the needs of clients, Globe management and readers/consumer. Contact and systems in place that helpd build relationships and ease of execution . Must be versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Basic Functions and Responsibilities: Manage the logistics of events, as requested by Globe management and clients. Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned event-marketing projects inclusive of:
-All Expos (example Wine, Auto, Snowsports)
-Monster/Bostonworks fairs
-BGM sponsored events (Example: Travel Show, A&E weekend and Globe 100)
-Advertiser Events and Event Direct
Working closely with all BGM departments manage high quality events and cross promotions for individual clients above Globe management expectations. This position is responsible for managing logistics of events whose planning cycle may be a few weeks to several months to a year.
-Manage the Event Marketing Co-Op.
