Re: Zone Reporter Agreement/Grievance Resolution
Dear Steve:
This letter will confirm that the Globe and the Union have reached an Agreement relative to the issue of 窶彁one Reporters窶?, a copy of which is attached. This Agreement resolves the outstanding grievance/arbitration of Grievance No. 2000-12 and the Union will so notify the American Arbitration Association.
The parties agree to immediately implement the changed terms and conditions of employment embodied in the Agreement, including salary increases, supplemental payments and one-time bonus payments. In addition, the Globe agrees to make a one time lump sum quid pro quo payment to the Globe/BNG Taft Hartley Health Fund of $100,000 payable upon the signing of the Zone Reporter Agreement.
The Globe further agrees that upon ratification and signing of the overall collective bargaining agreement, the Globe will allocate no less than $100,000 of the overall annual quid pro quo to the Zone Reporter issue to be calculated monthly beginning May 1, 2003 and paid into the Fund at the time of contract signing. For example, if the quid pro quo for this issue remains at $100,000 annually, the pro rated monthly amount of $8,333.33 will be paid for all months beginning May 1, 2003.
