Article VI

6.1 Rules of Debate

The presiding officer of all Union meetings shall be guided by Robert’s Rules of Order. It shall be the responsibility of the presiding officer to enforce the rules of debate.

6.2 Order of Business at Governing Board Meetings

A. The presiding officer calls the meeting to order.

B. The Recording Secretary makes the roll call.

C. Reading of the minutes by the Recording Secretary. If there are no questions on the minutes, a motion is made to approve. If the motion passes, the minutes are accepted. If there are any omissions or errors, a member can move to amend the minutes. If the motion passes, the minutes are approved as amended.

D. Report of Officers
Treasurer's Report
President's Report

E. Committee Reports
Standing or special committees give their reports.

F. Unfinished Business
Members can take up any unfinished business from previous meetings.

G. New Business
Introduction of new topics.

H. Miscellaneous Matters
Members introduce miscellaneous matters, such as announcements or requests that require no formal action by the group.

I. Adjournment
The meeting ends by voice vote or by general consent.

6.3

With the consent of the Governing Board, the presiding officer shall call upon the Recording Secretary to cite parliamentary procedure under Robert’s Rules of Order.
