RE: Globe Layoff Severance Packages

The Boston Newspaper Guild requests severance packages for Guild PT members who received layoff notice yesterday.

We request severance for PT members to mirror negotiated severance as in CBA Article VIII.

The Globe derived substantial revenue from these individuals for many years.

A severance payout to these individuals is appropriate in light of their many years of service coupled with the substantial revenue these people captured and maintained for The Boston Globe.

We look forward to your prompt reply on this timely matter.
