The BNG announces the vacancy of the Election Commissioner position in accordance with the Boston Newspaper Guild, TNG-CWA Local 31245 Constitution and Bylaws, Article 4.2.7.

This vacancy recently occurred due to Tim Foley, previous BNG Election Commissioner, decision to pursue professional opportunities outside of the Boston Globe.

The BNG thanks Tim for his excellent work as Election Commissioner since July 21, 2005.

According to BNG Bylaws:

“The nominees for Election Commissioner shall be BNG members in good standing or retired BNG members who were in good standing with the Union at the time of their retirement. He or she may hold no other elected or appointed Union office nor may he or she be named as chairperson of any Union committee. The Election Commissioner may not run for any Union office.”
