In our current CBA contract negotiations between The Boston Newspaper Guild and The Globe, The NY Times/Globe is offering no additional Health Care contributions, which would see a Guild member paying $900 per month for Family Health Care costs.
Further, the company offers the wage pattern set by the Teamsters Local 259 (drivers), which is pennies on the dollar and tied to revenue performance. Option B is a wage freeze and no new health fund contributions by the company if the offer on the table is not T/A by August 31, 2006.
BNG has negotiations scheduled with the company on Monday August 28 through Thursday August 31. We will keep you informed regarding these negotiations.
A general membership meeting will be held to discuss the negotiations. Date and time of the meeting TBA.
Sincerely,
Daniel Totten
