Grievances :
- A grievance was filed on behalf of a Globe columnist who had his column unilaterally removed and was assigned to reporter's duties. The columnist resigned after the Globe rejected his request for a buyout.
- A Globe reporter who filed a grievance in an effort to have his title reclassified as a critic also recently resigned.
- A grievance was filed on behalf of a Globe reporter who was given a written warning regarding her work performance.
- A grievance was filed on behalf of an Outside Advertising salesperson who was forced by Globe management to see a Globe-affiliated psychiatrist regarding his alleged angry outburst.
- A grievance was resolved when a part-time custodian in Billerica received a posted job for assistant foreman.
- A grievance was filed on behalf of a copy editor who was denied a leave of absence request to accept an internship abroad. The grievance would be resolved if she decides to return to the Globe and accepts a position similar to the one she left.
- The Union and the Globe agreed to a new posted title of Purchasing Coordinator, which was filled by a long-time part-time unit employee in the Purchasing Department.
- Grievances were filed for two Circulation Outside Salespeople who received written warnings regarding their work performance. Both grievants are longtime salespersons in the department who have seen their workloads increase significantly during the past several months.
- At the Union's request, two unit employees in editorial had their titles reclassified, with pay upgrades, from messenger to secretary after the Union and Globe management reviewed their duties and responsibilities.
- At the Union's request, a part-time layout/makeup/slot editor had her job reclassified, with a pay upgrade, to production editor. Another part-time layout/makeup/slot editor is receiving inter-classification fill-in pay for one of her two days of pagination duties, pending further review of an ongoing request to reclassify her as production editor.
- At the Union's request, a copy editor in the Zones was reclassified, with a pay upgrade, as a layout/makeup/slot editor after a review determined most of her duties fell into the latter category.
- At the Union's request, a copy editor on the Night Desk was reclassified, with a pay upgrade, to layout/makeup/sloteditor.
